Spam (2009) After completing EP1, I knew that I wanted to be more committed to making music. I upgraded to a better synthesizer, tried some different programs, and began my exploration of MIDI. As one would expect, Spam's sound is different from previous Void Ant albums. This time, instead of using a guitar, drum machine, or factory keyboard sounds, I relied on virtual instruments exclusively. I took sounds from the seventies and eighties, and made new compositions. I also put a lot more thought into programming drum beats. The music on this album was inspired by video games, colourful lights, and the pioneers of electronic music. Miscellaneous notes: The song titles, and album title, are inspired
by the subject lines in spam emails. |
