Self Titled (2005) This is where Void Ant began. The entire Self Titled album (except for two songs, 'Waiting', and 'Improvise') was created in June of 2005. Ironically, this project started with 'Fin', the last track on the album, and my first exploration into sampling and looping recorded sounds. Every sound on the album (save for the occasional programmed beat), was derived from my guitar. After completing 'Fin', I realized my ability to create sounds which please, at the very least, my own ears. So, I continued to indulge myself by improvising on guitar, then sampling, looping and composing. Miscellaneous notes: 'Anxious and Alone' is as genuine as Void Ant gets. I was alone and feeling anxious when I recorded and composed the piece. The result, however, raised my spirits. 'Waiting' is comprised of three one-shot recordings I made in 2004. 'Improvise' was also recorded in 2004. The ambient noise was added for this album. |
