   The Society is funded by membership fees of $7.00 per year and grants from the

    town of Essex and the Ontario's Ministry of Agriculture and Food. It aims are to

    provide members with a place to share information on gardening and co-ordinate

    efforts to beautify the area. Each year the Society also arranges special events related

    to horticulture ranging from plant exchanges to day trips and flower shows.

 

    Most members are average gardeners and usually have basic Knowledge of gardening

    and horticulture. There are others who have a considerable knowledge and few who are

    experts Master Gardeners. We help each other and share our knowledge of gardening.

    Visitors are welcome to stop by to here a speaker or to join. The only Requirement is an

    interest in gardening.

    Our volunteers plant, weed and maintain the downtown beds and from 2000 through

    2005 planted and maintained flower beds extensively in the new created Heritage Gardens

    at the Essex Railroad Station in order to make Essex a beautiful place to live and visit.

    High Scholl students who need volunteer hours may contact us to help us prepare flower

    beds , plant and weed.

  •     Information and answers to gardening questions Answered by a qualified

            Master Gardener or other club members with perhaps the same

            problems as you are experiencing.

 

    Meetings are held at 7:30 pm the forth Wednesday of each month except for

                          July , August and December at the

                   Kinsmen Field House Fairview Avenue , Essex.
