Silent Love


If life was more than
What we hear
And everything we see
Then maybe you would
Know how I feel
Without me having to say.
If we could see connections
Like we see spiders silk
Then we would never
Have to ask
How other people felt.
Though I feel more deeply
Than I ever have before
And the strength of that
Scares me more
Than anything else.
All I really want for you
Is happiness and health.
I used to just jump right in
Not thinking of the cost
But in my life I have lost
way too much to risk
And there is now too much to loose.
In all my years of life
I have never had
a friend like you before.
Because of you
I see the world
In a very different light.
Because you cared
About how I feel
It doesn’t hurt to breath.
Because of you
Just being there
I felt completely safe
And for the first time
In a long time
I don’t have nightmares
When I sleep.
There came a time
In my life
When I didn’t feel anything
And it was you who
Helped me through it,
Helped me understand.
When everything was falling down
And I was loosing faith
I couldn’t even write about
What it is I was thinking.
You were there for me
More than you know
And I’ll never be the same.
I wish that I could pay you back
For everything you did,
But I don’t even think you know
Exactly what it meant.
I don’t think you understand
Just how much it meant
To be able to count you
as a friend
In my time of need.
If I am hurt and things get hard
It is you who I seek
And though you don’t think
You do anything
That does not come naturally,
It makes all the difference
In the world
Just to talk to you.
Even if I am not the one
Who you seek
when you feel the same
I think that I can live with that
As long as you are safe.
I hope you find everything
That you are looking for
And all the tears I cry for you
You will never know.
I will never let you see
Just what you mean to me,
But I will do anything
That I can
To see you reach
Your dreams.
