Letting Go


I remember who you were
And how you used to be
I remember how it felt
When you were next to me

Some days I still miss you
The man you used to be
But I don’t even know you now
Our life together is a memory

I know that you are happier
In your new lovers arms
And even though you hurt me
I still wish you no harm

In this life, there comes a time
When everyone must leave
But I don’t regret a single moment
That was shared between you and me

I wish for you all the things
That I could never give
And though I sleep alone at night
The memories I keep

Days will come and days will go
We never know how many
So if you choose to love at all
Give it everything.
