Tiger The Mouser

Tiger appeared at our front door in late Oct., 2000. He was very friendly, unlike the usual neighbors' barn cats that show up during the summer, and so we strongly suspect that someone dumped him off because they didn't want him. We could not have a cat in the house for various reasons but we also didn't want to see him slowly starve and / or freeze to death outside. We built him a heated cat house so he can stay warm and toasty outside. We have also been feeding him food and warm milk as he was very skeleton-like when he first showed up. He has now gained weight and we have also seen him catch three mice. It looks as if this suspected previous house cat has made the transition to outside mouser. No, the dog and cat don't see eye to eye, hence the picture of Tiger in the tree.

BAD NEWS… After years of being a great friend and a great hunter our “Big Fellow” Tiger passed away on Jan. 18, 2004 at 2p.m. from FIV which is the cat form of AIDS. We cried for three days and still two weeks later miss him very much. The day after Tiger died, a kitten, found in a truck engine at the local Esso station, was brought to our vet and we adopted him. He will have his own web page.
