A special "Thank You" to our Eleventh week guests, for their continued support !
OK this week is much like the previous few weeks. It seems as if lots of combinations are working on the Walleyes. Floating jig heads, floating live bait rigs, 1/4oz lead heads, all tipped with crawlers or minnows. There have even been reports of Rapala's trolled in 7-10 feet of water catching some nice "EYES". Location: There have been lots of fish caught in the usual places, Third Island, Ant Island, Delaware Island, Caribou and Huckleberry, have all produced fish this week. There are probably "secret" spots that will never be divulged to me, since I tell everyone about them! Sizes are the same as the past couple of weeks 8" - 27" Walleyes, (one 27 3/4" caught & released). There have been some Pike caught in the 30" - 35" range this week. The test will be next week when "Big Piker AL" and his associates arrive from GA.
Just a thought from me, I would recommend that anyone coming to a remote lake fishing, to purchase or borrow a depth finder. This is extremely important if you have never fished the lake before. It is usually a good idea to bring along some live bait, Crawlers, Minnows or Salted Minnows will help convince tight lipped walleyes to bite. It could mean the difference in just fishing, or actually catching!
