This week has been a great Walleye week. We started out with very fast fishing with a lot of variety in sizes again. Delaware, Caribou & Third Island have been producing fish. Floating jigs tipped with minnows or a piece of crawler has been the ticket to success this week. The Northern Pike fishing, on the other hand, has not been as productive. We have seen quite a few Northerns in the 24" - 34" range being caught, but the larger 40" plus fish are being very finicky this week. We are assuming that the water has not cooled sufficiently for the big Northerns to put on the feed bags. Big Piker Al and his associates have been throwing all the "normal" lures but have not yet tied into the "BIG ONES", Al says if they don't hit the WRAT they won't hit. If Big Piker Al and his associates are not catching the big ones, trust me, they aren't biting.
