MEETINGS AND ACTIVITIES OF
L’ASSOCIATION DES CLOUTIER D’AMÉRIQUE

From its beginnings, l’Association des Cloutier d’Amérique has given itself the objective of gathering the greatest number of Cloutiers, for the purpose of getting together and knowing each other in order to better fraternize. The Association now provides us this opportunity through a number of gatherings and activities.

The annual gathering which takes place each year either the last weekend in July or the first weekend in August.

This gathering takes place in the different regions of Quebec and gathers together all the Cloutiers in America who wish to get to know each other or to renew acquaintances already established, to have fun and to feast.  We also hold the Annual General Meeting of the Association and it is during the course of this meeting that we make decisions regarding changes or additions to the by-laws and procedures, hear the reports of the various committees and receive the annual financial report.  The agenda of the meeting also includes the election of the executive and directors for the following year.   Mass, a banquet, dancing, games, an amateur show, meetings, chatting, pleasure and joie de vivre mingle during the weekend which remains memorable year after year.

The sugaring-off party which is always held on the weekend before Easter.

This party, which is held in a different location each year, attracts all lovers of good food cooked in a sugar camp.  It’s the season and it’s also the ideal gathering for those with a sweet tooth.

Meetings with different regional groups.

Each regional committee organizes an annual event, either a brunch, a corn roast, or some other activity, for the members in their region and invites all Cloutiers and their friends to join them.  It is fantastic to see members from the Beauce mixing with members from Montreal, members from Quebec mixing with members from Berthier, and so on.   More wonderful occasions to fraternize.  It has to be experienced.
