HOMEBUILT  (COCKSHUTT?) TRACTOR

Paul Muma of Guelph, Ontario, completed restoration of his Homebuilt tractor  in October, 2003.  He now plans to use it for show and tractor runs on nice sunny days. As it is quite unique,   he enjoys discussing it with others who are interested in it.

When purchased in Listowel, Ontario, "It was basically a piece of scrap - hadn't run in 25 years."   The story goes that it was made by a Cockshutt engineer in his own workshop back in the early 1950s.  It is very well built (unlike many homebuilts) with hydraulics and a 3 point hitch.  The hitch pieces are definitely Cockshutt.

The tractor is powered by a 1947 Austin A40 engine and has a mid 40's Ford 2 ton differential.   It has been painted several colors over the years:  yellow, red, possibly orange, and the last being gray.

SEARCHING FOR IMPLEMENTS
Paul is in search of a small antique implement (discs, plow, cultivator) that could be restored to add to it. The tractor is 40 hp, but because of its small size and weight it is somewhat limited as to what implements it will handle.

He is also trying to come up with a brand name for the homebuilt to reflect its Cockshutt roots. Any suggestions or information regarding the tractor's history will be welcomed.
