Northern Michigan's spectacular fall
leaves provided
a backdrop for Gil Grinsteiner’s newly acquired Cockshutt Golden
Arrow.
Fresh from working on the family farm, his Arrow is still in excellent
condition and he verifies that it is a strong running tractor. An
original Cockshutt tire remains on the back left side. The
tractor
has a blank cover where the belt pulley should be. Although Gil
believes
that it may have been delivered that way, he hopes to acquire a pulley
for it in the
future.

In 1958, a neighboring farmer purchased the new tractor from a local dealer in Stephenson, Michigan, and the Arrow has remained within a five mile area since that time. When the original owner gave up farming, it was sold to Gil’s father and brother for use on their farm. Now, it is parked in Gil’s machine shed until he finds time (hopefully this winter) to begin restoration. In the meantime, he has started by joining the International
Cockshutt
Club and is acquiring manuals and any other information that will
assist
him in returning the Arrow to its original state. Gil would
welcome
contact with other Cockshutt enthusiasts from Michigan, especially
those
from the Upper Peninsula, or northern Wisconsin. E-mail
