PRESTIGIOUS QUEEN'S

JUBILEE MEDAL AWARDED

Among those being awarded the Queen's Jubilee Medal by the Canadian Government on January 23. 2003 was Pastor Howard Courtney. Pictured here are four receiving their medals at the Simcoe County Red Cross Society presentations.

CONGRATULATIONS:

DEDICATION OF A NEW BABY!

It was our privilege to dedicate Alexander Christopher Dixon this past month. We extend our best wishes to Bryan and Tanya, parents of this beautiful gift from the Lord.

Also, We congratulate Bryon and April Tetford in the dedication of their newborn, Aaron Stanley.

OUR SNOW BIRDS including Gil and Delores Weston, Wolf and Carol Richter, Glen and Gwen Groves, Leslie and Vi Makray, and John and June White have not escaped the cold in Florida. Word has it that the days have been much cooler than usual in Florida!

FULL-TIME STUDENT INTERN

You got that right! Dennis Fehr and his wife Tanya have recently come to make Innisifl Church their home. Dennis completed Bible College in Saskatoon some time ago and only needed his two month ministry to finalize his experience in internship. Dennis is a "ticketed" carpenter by trade but has a heart for the work of God. We have been putting him to work in a wide variety of ministries and numerous church life activities... lots of work!

Thank you Dennis for working together with us. May God clearly direct your future life and ministry.

We welcome you and Tanya to our wonderful church family!

ANNUAL MEETING TIME!

The church board are in the process of firming up the nominations for the Annual Church Business Meeting to be held on Feb. 6 at 7:30 p.m.

NEW APPOINTMENT

TO BUS MINISTRY

At a recent board meeting the church board agreed to appoint Ryan Galashan as our "BUS PASTOR". Having graduated from Bible College with studies in Urban Ministries, we believe that Ryan will be able to re-build a thriving Bus Ministry Team.

He will be looking for help to build the team of workers and bus drivers. Can you help? Will you ride the bus one week a month? Could you take the bus weekly to fill it up with gas and check the fluid levels? These are the kind of things needed to be done as well as canvassing for new children. Call the office or see Ryan to offer your help!

We say a special thanks to Rod Emberley who has held the Bus Ministry together over the last few years. And to the other drivers like Anthony Langeveld who have assisted him.

MISSIONARY JUNE WHITE Our own missionary Rev. June White preached at Innisfil Church on January 5. Her messages are always powerfully preached and well received. As new members of the church they are being a real blessing to the assembly.

BRIDAL SHOWER HELD

A bridal shower was held on January 11 to bless Ryan and Teresa Galashan. This fine couple were married in the U.S.A. on December 28. We thank God for uniting them and bringing them together to serve the Lord at Innisfil Church.

CHURCH PLUMBING PROBLEMS

Over the course of time we have experienced problems with our plumbing. We are thankful to Rod Emberley for his assistance and help in repairing and replacing the pump on several occasions. An electric hand dryer has been installed in the men's change room to prevent waste hand towels from being available and flushed through our septic system.

PRAYER REQUESTS

AND UPDATES:

Please continue to pray for these needs:

Betty Anne Taylor - for health and strength as she recovers from a motor vehicle roll over on Innisfil Beach Road near the church.

AUDREY SWENOR, Blair's mother, has been diagnosed with cancer. They are presently determining the course of treatment. Please pray for Blair, his mother and their family.

TRISH FULTON'S FATHER has also been facing health problems. It is believed that he has experienced several small strokes and that he has a tumour in his head. Please pray for this need.

Marriages and Families - many folk connected to the church continue to face tremendous stress in relationships. Let's pray that God will perform a fresh outpouring of forgiveness and healing to be released between family members.

Single Parents in the Church- these folk need our continued support, love, and prayers. Many face additional financial needs during these cold winter days.

BACKSLIDERS - let's do warfare against Satan who would seek to lay hold and keep in bondage backsliders - we want the spiritually backslidden to "come home!"

IN AND OUT OF HOSPITAL!

Karen Boylan continues to experience periodic physical difficulties. Although she is doing much better we ask that you continue to hold her up in your prayers.

Byron Sweetland, one of our care taking team was hospitalized for an ear infection and belle's palsy back in December. We asked you to pray then. He is recovering very well and will be returning to work soon. Thank you for your prayers.

OUR SYMPATHY EXPRESSED

We want to express sympathy on behalf of the church to Sharon Yeadon on the recent death of her grandmother, to Bob Galashan on the recent death of his mother, and to Ian Shooter on the recent death of his aunt.
