PRAYER REQUESTS

We continue to pray for these ones:

Marj Shipley, who is facing her struggle with cancer.

Evelyn Hogeboom, who has been undergoing a number of tests in recent weeks.

Gloria Fox, who has recovered relatively well from her leg/ankle injury.

C.I.A. YOUTH!

What in the world is C.I.A. Youth? !!!

It stands for Christ Impacts Alcona and represents the new outreach thrust under the direction of Pastor Dwane and the Youth department. Once a month a generous donor has paid for the rental of the Lion's Hall in Alcona in order to accommodate a special outreach to the street kids and youth in Alcona. These events have proven successful in bridging relationships with unsaved kids in the community. Some have already given their hearts to the Lord through this ministry, and some have joined the regular "Soul-Winners Youth Group" at the church. Continue to pray for these outreaches and encourage the many church youth that work so hard to reach their peers! (Donations of board games would be appreciated.)

IT'S A GO!!!

A BOLD DAY OF OPPORTUNITY!

We have often prayed that the Lord of the Harvest would send forth laborers.

Some months ago a proposal was voiced both in the congregation and in the boardroom to hire our college and university students during their summer break.

Now, this summer student ministry program is about to be launched. The board approved of up to $25,000 to hire some of our own youth who are returning to college or university to do ministry during their summer break. At minimum wage, for forty hours a week, the program will be developed with the hopes of making a keen impact in the church and in the community during these months.

Within days of being notified we had several students indicate a strong interest in this. God is releasing into our hands a resource much bigger than we imagined. We will need significant funds. These students need to make a wage to assist them to return to school in the fall. The opportunities are endless! We are now in the process of developing a program and plan to have the students minister through the church. ITS'S A GO NOW recently receiving approval from the board. Look out INNISFIL!!!! As we move down this road, we will keep you informed as to its progress. The church does NOT have the funds on hand to accomplish this thrust, but the board believes that we need to move out in faith in this way. Your support and gifts towards this will be greatly appreciated! We believe that this is an investment in both the ministry of the church, and the youth involved!

TEHILLAH LEADERSHIP CHANGE

The mantel of leadership for the Monday night Young Adult alternative worship service "Tehillah North" has been transferred from Pastor Craig Head to Pastor Dwane Parsons.

Pastor Dwane has been interacting with Steve Osmond from Tehillah Calgary and will be attending the "Fire In The Rockies" conference along with Ryan Muller, one of our Tehillah worship leaders.

A special thanks to Pastor Craig for his leadership in establishing this ministry for young adults.

There is great potential in reaching many young adults for Christ and we hope to be able to do it here in Innisfil.

GATEWAY YOUTH HAVEN

PLANS PROGRESSING

An initial Board of Directors has been selected to help facilitate the process in establishing a Youth Haven in Innisfil. Steve Bradley presented this proposal to the board and has desired to come under the "covering" of Innisfil Church for accountability purposes. We are currently attempting to secure a facility to begin! Already donations of furniture, a pool table, and photocopier have been secured. They will be looking for a ping pong table, computer systems (at least Pentium in size) and other furnishing as time passes. (Call 436-1611 for any inquiries.)

PRIMETIMERS FEATURE Joan and Stuart Pyne!

PrimeTimers featured as special guests for the April meeting Joan and Stuart Pyne. Joan and Stuart are former members of Innisfil Church who have since moved on and are currently retired in the Bancroft area. The Hawaiian theme featured a variety of island costumes and a special presentation from Joan. The pot blessing luncheon was sufficient to feed all with left overs to go!

As always, a wonderful day was shared together.

ORDINATION CANDIDATES INTERVIEWED!

In the process of becoming ordained ministers, there are several levels of requirements. Interviews were held recently by the Western Ontario District and Eastern Ontario District of The Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada. Among those approved for ordination were our own Pastor Dwane Parsons, one of our former youth, Michelle (Branan) Mercer, and in Eastern Ontario, Pastor Jason Luscombe (Beulah Courtney's son). Their ordination dates are set for June 8, 2002. Congratulations!

STUDENTS OUT OF SCHOOL

FOR THE SUMMER

We congratulate all the college and university students on the completion of another school year. God has proven faithful to you once again.

LAST EASTER'S MUSICAL - DESSERT THEATER

"REDEEMING LOVE"

The singers and actors, under the direction of Betty Anne Taylor did a super job presenting this year's Easter Musical Dessert Theater. The musical drama on Friday and Saturday evenings, March 29-30, in the dessert theater format attracted a few hundred and concluded on Sunday Night with a full house!

The drama with "soldiers" Anthony Langeveld and Steve Aust added a wonderful dimension of both humor and content telling the Easter story.

A special thanks to all who assisted by way of decorating, props, food, serving, singing, and acting.

The following Sunday we were pleased to have guests whose first contact with the church appeared to be through the musical!

TIME OUT

Time Out is the name for a monthly social gathering of adults under the leadership of John and Janet Koning. On Saturday, April 20 a time of fun and fellowship around a "double 15" domino tournament was the featured event. Thanks to John and Janet for their leadership and initiative to organize these special times in the church family.

CONGRATULATIONS IN ORDER

Cory and Heidi Costyra, (now attending Mapleview Community Church) are celebrating the safe arrival of twins in their home. Emma and Jordon were born on February 11, 2002. Congratulations Cory and Heidi from all of us at Innisfil!

OUR SINCERE SYMPATHY

Rev. Art Reynolds, who was present with us at the final Easter Musical Drama performance on Sunday, Mar. 31 went home to be with the Lord during the night/morning following.

This was very sudden and unexpected. Our prayers and sympathy are with his surviving wife, Joanne and her family during this time.

WOMEN'S MINISTRIES RETREAT

On the weekend of April 12,13 women from across our district gathered at the Regal Constellation Hotel in Toronto. There were 18 from Innisfil Community Church who attended this special ministry conference. Many returned home with a fresh excitement for the things of the Lord, while others found themselves more deeply contemplative as to how God was working in their lives. It served as a great weekend of fellowship and enrichment.

CLARENCE MITCHELL FEATURED

On Sunday, April 7, our special guest was Clarence Mitchell. Clarence is involved in stewardship and financial planning. As a service to the church family, Clarence assisted several families to formalize and write official personal wills, power of attorneys , and health care living wills. There was NO CHARGE for this will-writing service!
