INNISFIL CHURCH HOSTS

SECTIONAL MINISTERIAL MEETING

On February 19th, Innisfil Community Church hosted a sectional ministerial meeting for Pentecostal ministers in the Huronia Area. Pat Marshall coordinated the lunch and presented the food in a first class way along with her helpers from the Women's Ministries. We were very proud of those who made soup, and sandwiches for the event. A special thanks to all who assisted.

SUNDAY SCHOOL

A number of exciting things are happening in the Sunday School program.

The new adult electives classes are proving to meet a variety of needs.

In the Sanctuary during Sunday School is a group of prayer "Warriors" who in their class, simply PRAY! What a novel idea for a prayer class that actually prays!

Pastor Lori Lynn and Pastor Craig are co-teaching the class entitled "The Power Of A Praying Spouse". A good number of couples are enrolled in this as well as other individuals. Great to see this class going so well!

Dale Clair is pumped for the new quarter dealing with Leadership Development. This has been on his heart for a long time. Get ready for his call. He will want YOU in his class!

CLASSIC SUNDAY NIGHT

DATE ADJUSTED FOR MARCH!

Though usually it is on the second Sunday night monthly, we are planning to hold a "Classic Sunday Night" during March on March 3 due to our having special guests on the 10th. Classic car shows display the older models of autos. Classic Sunday Night is a time to sing the old hymns and choruses. NONE of the newer songs will be used. It's oldies and goldies time! You can be a part.

Yea, CANADA!

We was all real proud to be Canadian, eh with the great GOLD MEDALS comin' home from 'da Olympics!! Wasn't that hockey game a great one?!!!

Let's get just as excited about our walk with God. Let's go for the Gold in a spiritual sense. Don't settle for less. Be your best for God!

THE PERKS OF BEING OVER 50

1. Kidnappers are not very interested in you.

2. In a hostage situation you are likely to be released first.

3. No one expects you to run into a burning building.

4. People call at 9 PM and ask, "Did I wake you?"

5. People no longer view you as a hypochondriac.

6. There is nothing left to learn the hard way.

7. Things you buy now won't wear out.

8. You can eat dinner at 4 P.M.

9. You can live without sex but not without glasses.

10. You enjoy hearing about other people's operations.

11. You get into heated arguments about pension plans.

12. You have a party and the neighbors don't even realize it.

13. You no longer think of speed limits as a challenge.

14. You quit trying to hold your stomach in, no matter who walks into the room.

15. You sing along with elevator music.

16. Your eyes won't get much worse.

17. Your investment in health insurance is finally beginning to pay off.

8. Your joints are more accurate meteorologists than the national weather service.

19. Your secrets are safe with your friends because they can't remember them either.

20. You can't remember who sent you this list.

OUR SINCERE SYMPATHY

We want to express our sympathy to Darin and Roxanne Jackson and family in the recent and sudden death of Roxanne's father, Mr. Francis (Frank) Copeman. Frank was led to the Lord by Willard Davidson a number of years ago. He is with the Lord and his funeral was held at Queensway Cathedral on Monday, Feb.25.

We also express our sympathy to Elroy and Marg Shipley. Elroy's daughter, Sheila Masse was suddenly killed in an auto accident on Peelee Island. The funeral was held in Windsor, Ontario on Friday, Feb.15.

FABULOUS BAPTISMAL SERVICE!

On Sunday, February 17, a total of nine candidates were baptised in water at the church. Seven of those were youth under the mentorship of Pastor Dwane Parsons.

We rejoice in the work that God is doing amongst the church body!

BUS MINISTRY GROWTH

It is our desire to see the bus ministry once again begin to blossom. New volunteers are invited to join in the ministry of reaching kids by bringing them in on the bus. Adults are needed to ride the bus with the kids.

A new cassette player has been installed to play kids music.

If you have any children's tapes that you would like to donate to the bus ministry, they could use some!

USED CLOTHING VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Special thanks to all those who came to load up the tractor trailer with used clothing on Monday, Feb.25. A good crew was on hand... much better than usual!

YES... WE STILL NEED HELP! And lots of it! In recent weeks there has been a major build up of used clothing to be sorted for our Emergency Relief and Development Overseas program. New volunteers are always welcome and can contact the office to assist. The office can be reached at 436-1611.

GREAT STRIDES ON CHURCH FACELIFT

The sanctuary painting has begun! The ceiling has been spray painted and completed. The platform area has changed drastically to take on a "purple" backdrop.

The walls have been given their base coat. (They look finished.) But there is still some more "fancy" stuff to be done...like wall washing (the painting process of wall washing, that is).

Things are looking fresh! Thanks for your faithful giving that is helping to pay for this fresh face lift.

BOARD ELECTIONS!

At our recent annual business meeting two board positions were filled. Gerry French was elected along with Graham Yeadon. Together with Dale Clair, Anthony Langeveld, Mike Sugden, and Floyd Running, the entire board will face strategic decisions in the days to come. Pray for them as they serve this church and the kingdom of God!
