OUR SYMPATHY

We extend our sincere sympathy to Paula Attwell and the family on the death of her mother Judy Toich. Judy died Nov.8.

We express our condolences to the family of Isobel Sawyer who passed away on Nov.13. Isobel used to work at the Stroud Drug Mart and many knew her from there.

We also express our words of comfort to Trina Miner who recently coordinated a memorial service for her companion, Rohus Alejando Enrico Gonzalez. Alex died on Sept.27 but the service was delayed to accommodate family and friends.

ANNUAL FREE COMMUNITY CHRISTMAS DINNER PLANNED

Under the direction of Mrs. Marion Boone, plans are being made for the Dec.24th Free Christmas Dinner for those alone, or in need. For reservations call 436-1611.

VOLUNTEER TRAINING AND EDUCATION PROVIDED

We are proceeding to provide adequate training and support for all our wonderful volunteers at the church. Our goal is to have all volunteers complete an appropriate Volunteer Application including a current Police Record Check, attend a formal Volunteer Orientation Seminar, and then attend further training and upgrading seminars from time to time. An orientation Session was held several weeks ago. On Friday evening, November 15, and all day Saturday, November 16, we offered the course entitled "Seven Laws of The Learner". This course was developed by Bruce Wilkinson, author of "The Prayer of Jabez". We were very pleased with the participation of so many. A special thanks to Rev. Ken Powell who taught the course and to John Koning who assisted in coordinating it on the local level.
