SPECIAL GUEST COMES TO INNISFIL

District Superintendent Rev. Gary Connors was the featured missions guest at Innisfil Church on Sunday, February 18. Some great stories of church growth in Quebec were shared. He noted that Quebec, according to Christian missiologists, is the largest single population in North America who are considered "unreached" with the Gospel message. A special offering was received for outreach in Quebec. $ 588.93 was received to be given to this project! Thank you for your generous gifts to help in this project. Together, we are making a difference!

UNEXPECTED BREAKDOWN

It was February 17, 10 a.m. and the children were excited about the bus trip. About 50 children were loading the bus up to travel southward on Highway #400, heading to 100 Huntley Street. They were to be part of the live studio audience. Rev. Craig Head was in the driver's seat. All appeared well and the bus departed the church, and as many times before, they were "bombing" down the highway towards their destination. Their route was simple. Take Highway 400 to highway 401 and then the 403. But as they moved southward near Highway #7 just north of the 401 a large bang echoed throughout the bus. A bus driver's nightmare! The front right tire had blown. Grasping the steering wheel (maybe even with white knuckles) , Pastor Craig was able to hold on as the speed decreased and then crossed two traffic lanes to come to rest on the shoulder of the highway. After waiting at the side of the road with a load of stranded children for more than two hours, roadside service arrived and replaced the wheel. Needless to say, they never made Huntley Street. They returned home, stopping briefly to eat along the way. The kids were great! (Now that's a miracle too... for two hours on the bus.. going nowhere!)

Thanks to God for His protection, and to all the workers who assisted with this trip. Maybe we'll try again sometime!

BOARD TAKES SOME PROGRESSIVE AND CHALLENGING STEPS!

At a recent meeting of the board, the decision was made to almost double the amount of money sent out of our church as a tithe to our Pentecostal Fellowship. It was clearly a step of faith in response to the Malachi "tithes and offerings" principles.

"Give and it shall be given unto you...." In recent months we have had to hold some bills for the following Sunday's offering income. The board felt that income would increase as we give more generously to the needs around us by way of an increase in our tithing as a church, just as God blesses us as we individually tithe. Join with us as we extend ourselves in this new way!

ANNIVERSARY FLOWERS???

It was Pastor Dwane Parson's time to preach... Sunday, February 4th. And with an anniversary at hand, Pastor Dwane thought it would be a great idea to surprise his wife, Chantal, with a bouquet of flowers. Chantal had never received flowers like this before. It was a least suspected event for her. And so the stage was set. As he launched into his evening introductory remarks leading into his sermon, he moved and reached back to the hidden flowers located on the organ bench and called her up to receive the flowers. Applause followed. But, what he didn't realize was that in his excitement about doing it, he broke the news ahead of time to the other Pastors. And, they too had flowers hidden for their wives. As they followed suit one at a time.... the crowd broke into exuberant laughter! (Even their wives couldn't believe it was happening.. And that they too had "REAL" flowers for the occasion.) Who says church is boring??? Not at Innisfil!!!!

MEN'S MINISTRIES/ WOMEN'S MINISTRIES COMBINED BREAKFAST

A combined MM/WM Breakfast was held on Saturday, February 23. The guest speakers were Pastor Craig and Lori-Lynn Head. The entertainment was a little unconventional but very enjoyable. You had to be there!!!

PRIMETIMERS

The shuffleboard every Monday at 1 p.m. continues and the seniors are seeming to enjoy this entertaining activity.

The most recent delicious Valentine's Dinner was catered by Glenda Mitchell. The guest of honour was Beulah Courtney who evoked considerable laughter and tears, (a great tonic for all present) as she shared from her life's experiences!

Thanks to Gerry and Margaret French for their help in this program in the absence of Gil and Delores Weston.

ANOTHER ALPHA COURSE HAS BEGUN!!!

Under the leadership of Anthony and Annette Langeveld another Alpha Course started late February. It will continue for the next 10 weeks. Call now... you can get in even with this little late start!

FACE 2 FACE AT WAR WITH MAPLEVIEW COMMUNITY CHURCH

On Friday, February 16 Mapleview Community Church joined with Face2Face Youth for war.... a Prayer War!

A Prayer War consists of exuberant praise, anointed special speakers, and culminates with a passionate, focused prayer time revolving around the theme of the night.

Chad Stuckless and Pastor Dwane led the pre-service prayer and worship time.

Pastor Graham from Mapleview spoke on the theme of remaining pure and being accountable to one another in our spiritual walk.

Mark Koning set up pavilions around the gym where kids could pray and meditate on different aspects of Christ's love and compassion.

The night was powerful, impacting and life changing for many of the over 30 present.

Another Prayer War will be coming on March 30th with Calvary Church youth.
