What is Modern Square Dancing?

It is a lively form of square dancing, which has its roots in traditional dance,
to which has been added many more interesting figures and a greater emphasis on smooth dance flow,
comfortable timing and graceful styling.
Modern square dancing has grown in popularity around the world during the last sixty years or so,
and is currently enjoyed worldwide, including most European countries,
Great Britain, Australia and New Zealand, China and Japan, just to name a few,
as well as all the provinces of Canada and states of the USA.
Participants dance a continuous, never repeating, variety of sequences
based on        FIGURES or CALLS      which have been learned.

Where do we dance?

The Happy Hoppers SDC dances regularly in the Seniors Meeting Place, located at
474 Davis Drive in Newmarket, Ontario.

When do we Dance?

We dance on Monday and Thursday evenings, from September through April.
