Since 1992 HHFN has been a not for profit organization dedicated
to ….. ·
Fostering
community interest in and knowledge of nature and nature related subjects. ·
Promotion
of community awareness and understanding of relationships in nature through
educational activities. ·
Providing
community forum and advocate for matters of environmental concern. Membership is open to all
individuals who subscribe to the above objectives. HHFN is one of 134
affiliate clubs that make up the Ontario
Nature’s “Nature Network”. (Federation of Ontario Naturalists). Implementation of a Junior
Naturalists Program and the co-management of Snowdon Park and its 95 acre
wetland trail complex are two of the group's undertakings. Monthly presentations/
meetings are held at Haliburton Museum building and the AGM takes place outdoors
at Snowdon Park in late August. Field trips which are open to non-members are
organized throughout the year. Presently there are
