An overnight trip
Reg and I paddled a 21 kilometer section of the
Montreal River from the bridge on Highway 2
north of Prince Albert to the bridge on the
road to Besnard Lake.
What a surprise
Fifteen out of twenty one kilometers
of this section of the river
turned out to be class one rapids.
You would never guess that from the picture!
Luckily the water level was high, otherwise the
rapids would have been bolder beds, I sure.
Don't try this trip at low water levels
Camping
Camp sites are not easy to find along the route
but the scenery is fabulous.
Access
Access is paved highway to the starting point.
With 20 kilometers of good gravel road from highway 2
to the bridge on the Besnard Lake road.
