December Holiday Season	Have a very Merry Christmas!	On November 21^st the Highland Companies announced that they were withdrawing the licence application for the proposed mega-quarry. Congratulations to all who paid attention, talked up the issue, donated, volunteered, wrote letters and generally became a squeaky wheel. We stood our ground and now it is time to celebrate!

February 16, 2012	NDACT Celebration & Valentine’s Day Dance	Honeywood (tentative)
The proposed mega-quarry has been stopped but Melancthon’s food land and source water is not protected while Ontario laws prioritize aggregate above all other land uses. As Carl Cosack, Chair of the North Dufferin Agricultural and Community Taskforce (NDACT) says “NDACT is not finished until the job is done.” We continue to work to protect Ontario’s prime farmland and water.
