Bob van der Poel on the Web - Music, Software and Useless Stuff

IMC and Me

As mentioned somewhere else I have been attending the The International Music Camp for a few years now. And here's the proof ...
This is a low-resolution (the only one I have, donated by another happy camper) of a practice of the intermediate band in 2001.

IMC Practice

This is a practice session, so no pretty white shirts and black pants. Amazing part of it all is that probably more than half of the people in the 2001 picture were in the 2002 and 2003 band.

Every year I try to participate in the jazz emsemble: and opportunity for people not "doing" jazz to give it a go and for some of the old-timers to strut their stuff ... and room for folks like me who are somewhat inbetween. Here's a little snap of me playing my soprano sax in 2005.

Bob's Soprano

In 2006 I got up the nerve to do a solo at our performance evening.

Over the Rainbow

I played "Over the Rainbow" and folks there seemed to enjoy. Thanks again for the help Karen, Malcolm and Kent!

So, if you get a chance, do book a week off at the end of July and join us. It really is a lot of fun. And don't forget to say "Hello, I saw you on the internet."
