Car Building Rules

• Cars from previous years - NOT ALLOWED with every new race you must build a new car.
• Car Design - Clubbers must use the wheels, axles and wood supplied. Additional features like windshields, steering wheels, weights and decals may be added providing the car does not exceed 150 grams.
• Dimensions -the car must be 150 grams, the overall length must not exceed 17.8 cm and overall width must not exceed 7 cm.
• Numbering - Clubbers are given the opportunity to choose their number when they receive their car. The car number must appear somewhere on the car, but it can be on the bottom of the car.
• Handling on Race Day - As much as possible, the BUILDER of the car should be the only person that touches or picks it up. CLUBBERS are to place their own cars on the track prior to a race and to remove them after the race. If the starter notices that a car is not properly aligned prior to a race, he or she will call the clubber back to adjust it.
• Jumping the Track - If a car jumps the track during the race, the starter will begin the race over. If a car jumps the track 3 TIMES, that car will be eliminated. The race will then begin with the remaining cars.
• No Racing After the Grand Prix - Clubbers ARE NOT ALLOWED to race against each other after the event. If a non-trophy winning car defeats a trophy winning car, it could cause problems.

• Field Days is an opportunity for all the AWANA clubs in southern Alberta to get together and fellowship and compete in friendly games
• Field Days has two components - Games & Quizzing
• Field Days Games
  • Our club has to put together a team of 10 clubbers who will compete in the games.
  • The team will be a mixture of kids from every grade and boys and girls. The reason for this is that certain of the games are age and gender specific. For example there are different heats for grade 3-4 boys, 3-4 girls, 5-6 boys and 5-6 girls.
  • The games are particular AWANA games that every club knows and has opportunity to practice beforehand.
• Quizzing
  • Bible Quiz teams consist of 2 clubbers for each division entered. (Gr. 3-4; Gr. 5-6)
  • Every team member must have passed 10 sections in their books in the current club year.
  • First Section: 8 multiple choice questions will be asked and clubbers hold up a paddle with the letter A, B, or C corresponding to the correct answer. Clubbers must get at least 5 multiple choice questions correct in order to advance to the speed round.
  • Second Section: In the speed round clubbers press a button to determine which person buzzed in first. The clubber has 10 seconds to begin and 30 seconds to complete the answer.
  • All answers must be WORD PERFECT according to the lastest handbook. Clubbers will be quizzed on the Start Zone and Discoveries 1-3 in their handbooks.

• During our Club year our church sets aside one Sunday service to highlight this ministry and provide opportunity for people to support it.
• The clubbers lead the worship time with the songs we sing during council time, the kids also do a memory recital, there's a childrens feature and also an overview of the club.

• Awards Night is the last offical club night where the kids are awarded their major awards: ribbons for completion of their 1st and 2nd books, plaques and trophies for the 3rd and 4th books.

An Awana leader is a committed believer who ministers in an Awana club in a local church. If you are interested in helping out you need to be qualified and talk with the AWANA Commander or Secretary.
